Beauty is power, and makeup is something that really enhances that; it’s a woman’s secret.” – Charlotte Tilbury

If you agree let's see your hands up 🙋🏾‍♀️ Bridal makeup is very important to the modern Bride who wants to look her best while being comfortable but still feeling like the Queen that she is, that's why we have "the makeup artist with the softest hands" Zainab Taoreed of MakeupbyKanyin sharing some tips with us today;

While making arrangements for your wedding remember bridal beauty should also be on your top list, the earlier you start to think about it the less stressful it will be on the day. Your wedding Makeup should be fresh, clean and timeless, it should be a lifetime beat so you can look back at your wedding pictures and be happy, Brides to be should have an idea of what they want to look like on their big day and communicate it to the make up artist or better still seek advise from your make up artist about the best bridal look to go for and have trial sessions if necessary. If you’re a bride to be and you’re not familiar with make up you should book make up appointments before your big day so you can get comfortable with make up.

Whether you are makeup pro bride or a novice bride, I think every bride should know that there is no reason to radically change their look on their wedding day, the end goal should be a fresh, glowing, and enhanced version of themselves and jara!!! 😂😝 My main aim when getting a bride ready is working with features to make her still feel comfortable in her skin but the most beautiful she has felt.

Various Bridal looks We have various make up looks and a Bride should definitely go with the look she’s most comfortable in, if you love bold looks don’t be scared to rock it on your big day, if you love the calm and timeless look then rock it all the way!!!

One of the biggest trends of bridal Make Up has been a subtle look, on your big day you can start out with a conservative look, keep your brows as natural as possible (you don’t want to look back at your wedding pictures wondering what was wrong with your brows, lol) also take it easy with contour (it comes out strong in pictures) then as the day goes by add a bit drama. The easiest way to accomplish this is to change into a bold lipstick and add more drama to the eye.

Skincare While preparing for your big day I advise you pamper yourself, take very good care of your skin or visit a skin care expert so you can look fresh on your big day.

Time management When it comes to time especially in this part of the world with our African time, you have to communicate time well let your artist, you definitely don’t want to rush your makeup let them know you won’t do well with time delay, remember you’ll need to take as many pictures as possible before you get busy with activities of the day.

Hiring a makeup artist can take a way that added bit of stress that you don’t need in your big day, makeup artists are not just brides personal makeup artist but personal assistants they are experienced in making you look great and feel confident with tested and trusted products.

These are qualities you should look out for when choosing your bridal Make Up artist ; - Patience - Tact - Communication skills - Ability to work with tight time constraints - Ability to evaluate customers satisfaction - Good listener - Discipline - Passion

Ideal Budget Range In my opinion, there is no ideal budget range, you just have to work with your budget and also your choice of what’s luxury to you, it’s best to invest in a good make up artist so you don’t end up looking like a clown on your wedding day.
