One of the very first questions newly engaged couples get asked is "When is the Big Day", it's like people think you plan the wedding before you get engaged...

As surprising as it may seem at the time, it is a very important question and must be asked and answered before planning can take full force.

Below are some of the key points we think should be considered when choosing a date;

⚫ What kind of Wedding do you want to have?

Do you want an outdoor or indoor event, the answer to this will invariably affect the next point.

⚫ Month/Season of the Year.

Do you want to begin the Year with your wedding or you want to get married in the month of love or it's the hazy harmattan weather in December that does it for you, all of these must be taken into consideration when picking a date, you don't want to plan a beach wedding in June and get drenched by the rain.

⚫ Dates that are Special to you or your Significant other.

Birthdays, anniversaries, memorials, etc fall into these category, be sure to check when deciding on a date.

⚫ Consider Local Events/Stay Off Certain Dates.

Be sure to check that there are no major events that could affect yours on the same date, recent turn of events must have thought us all to stay clear of election dates and the weeks around it,if possible the months...lol.

⚫ Consider Your Budget

We know prices of items go up around November, December and are lower during other months, if you're working on a strict budget then it's wiser to avoid months with high inflation tendencies.

⚫ Day of the Week

Saturdays are not the only days for Weddings!!! Take into consideration whatever day you think is best for you.

⚫ Finally, be sure to choose a time when you and your fiance(e) can get time of work and also when it's convenient for your loved ones to be present.

Trust these few points would be useful to you or your loved ones planning a wedding or in fact any other kind of event, know any other points to consider? Share them with us in the comments section below...we'll be waiting.
